Basic Description
Manhattan’s GRE flashcards are comprised of two separate volumes, labelled “Essential” and “Advanced.” Each boxed set includes 500 flashcards and a small ring to carry some of the flashcards. Each flashcard contains definitions, sample sentences, and usually additional discussion or related words.

1. Comprehensive – The complete collection totals 1,000 GRE-specific words. Some of the vocabulary is naturally easy, but there are many challenging words too.
2. Information – Everything on the back of the card provides all the information you need to master the vocabulary.
3. Convenience – As with most flashcard systems, you can carry these with you. The flashcard ring also helps to keep them in order.
4. Physical Quality – The quality of the cards is reliable and relatively sturdy.
5. Online Options – If the physical version is not to your taste, there is a kindle version available. There are also some supporting articles on how to study with the flashcards on the official Manhattan website (see here).

1. Physical Size – It would be impractical to carry 1,000 vocabulary cards with you. The key ring can hold about 60 cards. These limitations might be an issue if you are always on the go and want to keep your cards in pristine condition.
2. Time Constraints - Fully learning all of the words requires a great deal of time and effort. While this is not really a weakness of the flashcards, make sure you allot yourself enough time to properly review them. Do not underestimate the vocabulary!

Closing Remarks
Manhattan’s GRE Flashcards are probably the best source for GRE-specific vocabulary on the market (though Magoosh might have something to say about that). The words are defined clearly, example sentences are clear, and additional discussion is helpful. The physical quality of the cards is also good, though there is some room for improvement (this would probably increase the price). Vocabulary books and daily reading represent important components of our GRE verbal preparation. Without these flashcards, however, you would be doing your studies a major disservice. Incorporate these flashcards into your study regimen as soon as possible!
