Hi guys,
GMAT date: 8th SeptOvercoming the fear, I finally wrote a mock test today. I attempted Veritas Prep 1 and my scores were:
Quant: Q59, 83%ile with an accuracy of 57%.
Verbal: V38, 84%ile with an accuracy of 66%.
Total scaled score : 710.
I am yet to review the test completely, but here are the issues that I noticed.
Quant: I completed the quant section with
over 7 mins left. Too disappointed in myself, but my aim was to make sure that I allocate just enough time to all the questions. In between the 21st and 30th question, I got series of questions which took me 30 secs or so to solve. How do I fix this lag? I won't mind rushing through the last two three questions with 30 secs on the clock, instead of wasting 7 mins.
Verbal (V38) : I completed this section with
around 3 mins to spare. Could have made a difference of 3-4 right answers easily, had I used this time . The painful part here is
Sentence Correction. I am rigorously following the
MGMAT SC and eGMAT SC course, however, nothing seems effective. How do I fix this ? The time taken for SC is over 30sec per question as compared to average.
So, 1st: How authentic are the Veritas Prep mocks? Can I expect that the scores on GMAT would be in the vicinity of what I clock in these mock tests?
2nd: When should I write the next mock?
and lastly, how hard is it to go from a 710 to 750+ in a month's time? I am on sabbatical from work and hence, I can sit back and study for 10 hours on the trot. What should the game plan be?
Help me guys!
Thanks !!
