SPgmat700
Hi!
I need detailed advice on how to study for the GMAT.
My target score is 700 and my goal is to take the test by November.
I have
Magoosh,
OG 2020,
MGMAT guides and started taking Kahn Academy.
For 2 months now, I went through the
Magoosh lessons for mostly Quant and
OG (verbal and Quant) but still have a hard time. I continue to get a low score in
Magoosh practice tests (between 50% correct and below).
Right now since it looks like I need to start again, I am overwhelmed and do not know how to prioritize the materials I have. I feel uneasy as I think there is a lot more to do and I am not managing my time properly.
Should I start Kahn Academy then work on
OG/GMAT club questions or after each topic at Kahn Academy work on topic related GMAT questions?
I need to do well in Quant first but I also need time to study verbal, IR and AWA. When should I factor in practice CATS?
Note:I usually make time to study 2hrs weekdays and 3hrs weekends. How long should I adjust my Study Plan? Not sure if I can still achieve my November deadline.
Thank you in advance.
Posted from my mobile deviceHi SPgmat700,
Welcome to GMATCLUB! I recommend that you go through the concepts before you move to the
OG.
OG questions are very important source of practice and ideally must be used to solidify your concepts further. You can choose either of the course that you are comfortable with to learn the concepts.
Further I recommend taking practice test after you are done with your concepts to track your progress. Apart from the GMATPREP,
Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.
Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practice tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.
I would also encourage you to purchase the GMAT official practice questions fro mba.com for some great additional practice. Further you should also consider LSAT Questions for some great RC and CR practice.
Lastly, you can check out a very interesting article by Mike McGarry from
Magoosh detailing a 3 month study plan
https://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/3-month-g ... -students/. You will find it very helpful as it gives out a study plan as per your needs.
Hope this helps. All the best.
