Starting to study in the mornings before work now...
Over the past week, I've finished the Quant OG problems, and lifted my success rate from 15% to about 60% on 700-800 level questions. I've just gotta either make some flash cards now, or download a decent set, and start memorising all the number properties, especially with sets. I also have to become more "elegant", and learn how to set up systems of equations more efficiently. I have the MGMAT Advanced Quant on order, and it should be here in 2 weeks.
I've also improved my verbal a little, I'm doing a lot better on CR and SC with the OG questions. I did 27 OG SC questions this morning (from 84 to 110 in OG11, apparently 600-700 level questions), and I got 25 of them correct, with an avg. time of 1min 10 secs.
So, I've still got about 60 verbal questions from the OG to do, then the the 2nd half of both Quant and Verbal review books to do, and the Advanced Quant guide before I attempt my next CAT. My goal for the next CAT, to be brutally blunt, is 680 - 700, and I'm really hoping I don't fall flat on my face.
Including all of the questions I've gotten wrong which I plan to redo, I'll be doing 600 questions before I take MGMAT CAT4. If I can't get a 680 of the back of that - I'm probably not really worthy of B School anyway!

After 3 cracking days on the verbal trail (90% correct on final 30 questions in OG11 of SC, RC and 80% of CR), my confidence is thru the roof, and I've decided that I'll be ready for the GMAT earlier than first thought.
Will be booking the GMAT for Wednesday 21/9/2011 & Applying for Oxford in the first round. That gives me 50 days @ an avg of 1.5hrs a day - 75 more hours of prep, split into:
20hrs of Practice CATs (MGMAT CATs 4,5 & 6 & GMAT Prep 1 & 2) and review of CATs (only do AWA on GMAT Prep 1 & 2 to build stamina)
35hrs on MGMAT Advanced Quant & Solving 600-700 & 700+ level questions
20hrs on Verbal problem solving (Verbal Review 2nd Edition & OG12 700+ level questions)
I'm not gonna bother with solving ANY questions that aren't from official sources, so that I don't get too bogged down with unreasonably hard questions and lose confidence
MGMAT 4 CAT on Saturday Sept 3, 2011! The goal on MGMAT CAT 4 is 680 - with a score of 700-flat on D-Day.

Regarding the OG's I don't think it matters if you use OG 12 or OG 11. Also - I think doing the GMAT Prep CATs which are the best - and almost identical to the real test. And yes - it is absolutely beatable. Coming from a person who was in a 'i'm a long shot for over 700', it IS possible! Just try your best, and with a bit of positivity and luck on the day of, you can do it. Another advantage to doing it earlier is that you will have the chance to redo if your first attempt does not go so well and you have some bad luck. You can only take the test every 31 days so keep in mind with your deadlines!
