Ross vs LBS vs INSEAD

MBB recruiting is very competitive in the United States. Most business schools place people into consulting and that includes both MBB and second tier firms. As you may know, some second tier firms such as Deloitte pay actually better than MBB.

You opportunities and chances in Consulting industry mostly correlate with your performance and your background. As a consultant, you have a strong chance to be spotted in the résumé selection process and also perform well on the interview so I feel your chances are better than average.

In my opinion, the US market is a better job market than European. It is bigger and you don’t need to know German or French. The consulting salaries are also about double of what you get in Europe…. But there are of course trade-offs.

I think there is a bit of a question of where you want to be in the long term. I feel for your goal is Europe, Insead would be the perfect choice. You don’t really need a summer internship because you are coming from a consulting background. I understand the concern about hiring within consulting and only having access to English-speaking locations … but LBS is a lot more expensive over the two years… and all you’re doing is just buying time. If you want to buy time, you can wait a year and reapply to INSEAD again next year. I can tell you is that it is very difficult to time the market… things may be even worse than two years than they are today 😬🤷‍♂️

Ross is not an M7 but it has access to MBB recruiters and consulting recruiters who come on campus…. I’m not sure I share your concerns about international environment or transition. It’s a school. Unless you want to be served particular ethnic food and entertain by live bands from your country, I think you’ll do just fine 😇 - I would argue that on the contrary, schools that attract a lot of international students and have majority of the students from abroad, have no local anchoring. Students come, they study and they leave. That makes it harder to stay and transition. This is why in the US you always want to have a predominantly US student body because that will help your transition into the US culture and learn the ways of the land.

Ultimately, you should decide where you want to work immediately after graduation. If you would like to be in the US, than Ross it is and if you want to be in Europe and most likely London, then either of the other two would be my choice.
