Ross or NYU, forget Cornell and McCombs.

Both are better academically, ranked higher, smarter students, better alums, etc...etc...essentially the two offer a much better experience over your other two choices.

Btwn Ross and NYU, it depends on what type of MBA experience you're looking for.

If you are agnostic about post-MBA career in tech, banking, or consulting, and may want to pursue co-founding a company during the MBA program -- which school would you want to go with? Some background: military vet w/ a MPP, currently working in automotive.

Thanks jessepinkman. There's a $50K tuition delta between Ross and Stern given that the GI Bill is more generous towards public schools than private ones. I'm not 100% funded by GI Bill. And no scholarship from either school to make up that difference.

Just seeing this thread - I would easy choose Ross. It does not sound like you are planning to leverage your automotive background but that is a good safety choice should none of your Consulting, Finance, Tech, Banking bets dont' pan out. The main goal/consideration if you are potentially planning to start a business is minimizing your living expenses/costs during the start up process. Doing it during school is great since you don't have to pay loans back but you are trading off some of the learning/education experience, recruiting, networking, etc. School is stressful and is very busy. It is not a relaxing summer camp (unless you are in Tuck of course).

The way I see it, Ross should give you a good jump-start for your career goals, good cost/benefit option for starting a business, and also has a safety in case you need to spend a few years in Automotive.

I'd go with Ross here it sounds like you would have a bit more flexibility with the strengths of the program to adapt to whatever your career goals end up being also think the Ross community will be a better fit for a military man

Seems like this thread is dormant, but I want to provide insight to people who do look here.

Definitely between Ross and Stern, depends on what kind of city environment you want.

Stern for Military Vets: Look into the Fertitta Program, it is amazing. It turns the tuition from ~$65,000 to $30,000 per year, and upwards of 90% of Vets get accepted to it. Combine that with 100% GI Bill, therefore you are also Yellow Ribbon eligible, you get a FREE education at Stern as a Veteran. Seriously worth looking into.
