Dear experts
I’m still in the initial stages of my preparation and would need about 2-3 months for giving the GMAT. Since most B school round 1 applications are in September and I’ll be appearing around that time for the gmat, is it a good idea to skip round 1 and apply to business schools in round 2?

Regards
Garima

R1 matters Garima; read here why. That said, this is never at the cost of a sub-optimal application.

If you can manage to work on your applications in parallel to GMAT prep and your day job, then R1 might be possible - but that shouldn't mean compromising on GMAT or on the applications. If you think you cannot manage it, go for R2.

Understood. If I take my GMAT around 1st week of September, I’ll still be able to meet a few deadlines. Typically, how Long should one invest in the application?

That depends on what specific schools/deadlines you are targeting Garima.

The time it takes varies. The first school application can take anywhere from 15-25 days. That's a very generic range though and you can have huge variations on either sides too.
