I’ve received an admission offer to the MScBA / Master in Management program at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. My post-MiM goal is to move into consulting, ideally with a focus on sustainability-related roles, given my background in environmental sciences. From what I understand, RSM has a strong reputation in sustainability and ESG-oriented business education, which makes it feel like a natural fit for my profile and long-term interests. They have also offered me a very generous scholarship, which significantly reduces the financial burden.
At the same time, I’ve also received an admit from ESCP Business School. ESCP appears to have stronger global rankings, a more established alum network, and arguably better brand recognition in consulting. However, the total cost is substantially higher.
This is where I’m conflicted. Most people I’ve spoken to are advising me to choose ESCP despite the higher cost, mainly because of its stronger network and perceived career upside. But as an Indian student financing an international degree, the cost difference is significant, especially given the current INR–EUR exchange rate.
Could people here share their perspective on the following?
- How much of a difference does the ESCP brand/network actually make in consulting recruiting compared to RSM?
- Would ESCP realistically provide better ROI and faster long-term career growth?
- For someone interested in sustainability consulting / ESG strategy, would RSM’s niche strengths offset ESCP’s broader prestige advantage?
- If you were in my position, would you prioritize lower debt + scholarship, or stronger brand value + network?
Would especially appreciate insights from alums, recruiters, or people working in consulting in Europe.
