Hi all,
I have been admitted into 2 FT MBA programs: Rotterdam School of Management & Smith School of Business at Queen's University. I've been racking my brains over which program to choose and any suggestions from you guys are welcome.
A little bit about my profile and post MBA goals: I have worked for 6.75 years at a fortune 500 tech based services consulting company as a Data Analyst. I worked with Energy and Automotive clients in Supply Chain domain (Procurement and After market to be specific) and developed multitude of business solutions that delivered considerable amount of savings. Post MBA I would like to make a switch to Digital Transformation Consulting with a focus on supply chains and sustainability.
Pros & Cons of each school:
RSM:- Curriculum more focused on Sustainability
- Great faculty in the technology and operations department
- More diverse cohort
- A tad bit cheaper
- Top ranked program in the Netherlands
- Triple Accredited
- Great for international mobility
- Get to live in the Netherlands
!
Cons:
- Career Services support seems virtually non-existent (from FT rankings and talks with alumni)
- 2022 Employment report says only 72% were able to land a job by the time of graduation
- Smaller job market compared to Canada?
- European employers' attitude towards an MBA is not the same as the employers in North America means lower salaries? (heard that European firms don't pay a premium for MBA graduates)
- Lower Overall satisfaction scores from student responses in FT rankings is concerning
Smith School of Business:Pros:
- Top class Career services support
- Good for international mobility
- Team based learning approach
- Digital Strategy Specialisation
- Highest Overall Satisfaction scores from student responses for programs in Canada in FT ranking seems a good indicator
- 2022 employment report says 96% candidates landed a job before graduation
Cons:
- Not much emphasis on Sustainability relatively
- A tad bit more expensive
- Relatively less diverse cohort
- Not the best program in Canada
- Lost Triple Accreditation recently
- Have to live in chilly Canada!
Please let me know your thoughts and help me make this decision! Thanks in advance.
