Just inform the admissions committee of the mix-up.
First, admissions committees don’t take it easy with slip-ups during MBA applications from applicants. An admissions committee member at a top school recollected a story of having rejected a perfect candidate just because she forgot to mention an upcoming promotion at work.
However, your issue isn’t a lack of self-awareness. Yours is a simple miscalculation. And considering you get paid hourly, a difference of a $1000 while calculating your yearly salary won’t be considered false-reporting.
But do it quick. You don’t want the admissions committee to come across this issue during your background check as that might raise some eyebrows.
