HI.. What do you think are chances of an application with sales background to join IIM PGPX programme. I have seen profile of students but really don't find much people with core sales background. People more of strategy or operational roles are visible.

I just want the know how recruiters see a candidate with a merchant Navy background during the placements in IIMs?

Hi Sagarwal,

You are right, there are not too many people with core sales background. However, that is an advantage for you because your profile will be a diverse profile and hence chances of admissions are higher.

Hi Deepender,

There are a number of people from the merchant navy in the last few batches. Recruiters view these candidates as suitable for varied roles including but not limited to operational management, customer engagement and marketing roles.
