Samantha drove a total of 700 miles on her vacation. If her car averages 35 miles per gallon of gas and gas cost an average of $1.25 per gallon, how much did she spend on gas during her vacation?

(A) $17.50
(B) $25.00
(C) $35.00
(D) $70.00
(E) $250.00

700/35*1.25

= 25.00 , Answer must be (B)

Total Cost = Fuel used * cost per unit Fuel.
Miles per gallon = 35
Total miles accumulated = 700
So total fuel used = 700/35= 20 gallons
Cost per gallon = $1.25
So total cost = 20*1.25= $25

700/35 is 20.
20*1.25 is 12.5*2 which is 25

Samantha used 700/35 = 20 gallons of gas, so she spent 20 x 1.25 = 25 dollars on gas.
