Hi all,
I am planning to go the MBA path(executive MBA if you are from India) since I feel that I am somewhat stuck in my corporate life. A little background- I am a food technologist by education and working in Alco-Bev industry. I have 9years of work ex and currently I am working with a french liquor giant. I have started my GMAT prep, albeit slow but recently I got an email from one Valeria Wiens from TUCK. Below is the copy of the email. "Dear Ritabroto,
Hello from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth! In case we haven't met, I am Valeria Wiens, Associate Director of Admissions, Evaluation here at Tuck.
I am so pleased to learn that you are exploring opportunities at Tuck. We are deeply committed to attracting candidates with diverse international experiences into our classrooms and into business leadership positions worldwide. In fact, our members of the Class of 2022 represent 47 countries by citizenship and 37 percent of the class is international. I myself lived in Russia, Germany, Spain and Canada before relocating to the Upper Valley. Our community is unlike any you will find at other schools, creating an experience that is distinctly immersive.
At Tuck, we value differences—cultural, historical, social. Understanding the spectrum of experiences and outlooks is essential for leaders who will manage diverse workforces. Ensuring that everyone feels comfortable in the Tuck community accomplishes more than harmony; it improves the learning process and is a critical component of leadership development.
I encourage you to take a virtual tour of our campus. You are also welcome to connect with current students or other members of the Tuck community through our online events.
As you conduct your search for the right MBA program for you, I hope you will reach out to me with any questions you might have about Tuck.
Best,
Valeria Wiens Associate Director of Admissions, Evaluation Tuck Admissions"
I presume they have lifted up my contact details from here but I am not understanding why they contacted me in the first place. I don't have any GMAT score card yet. My question is- 1. Do they make these kind of cold calls? Are they Legit? 2. Should I prepare for GMAT and ignore these kind of cold calls? (one HULT rep also contacted me via phone) 3. Can I study in TUCK without giving GMAT/ by applying via the above mentioned mail?
Your advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ritabroto

I don't think they got it from GMAT Club. We do not sell our user data. We do send emails on behalf of other companies including Tuck but we would not provide your email to them. Was this email from GMAT Club or directly from Tuck?
If directly from Tuck, it is not from us Have you signed up for any MBA Fairs/evets/or registered for the GMAT? GMAC does sell the user data from the mba.com
(not sure) On the website GMAC gives you the option to opt-out incase you dont want it to share your contact details with other B-schools.
But trust me, these emails are helpful... at times they remind you of important events that you would have otherwise missed. If its bothering you too much, simply unsubscribe yourself from a particular school's mailing list.
