Hi,
Thanks for your interest in our courses! Below, I will try and go over your questions:
The way we teach our classes involves teaching the content first, and then applying that content to the problems. Therefore, when we break down a math problem, we often progress beyond just looking for a correct answer. We use the problem as a way to explore multiple ways of solving it, and to explore some of the theory behind the individual question. One of the questions I answer a lot on this forum, in fact, is something along the lines of "I've been doing a lot of practice problems, but my score is not improving." We feel it's often better to do fewer problems, but to truly understand them, and know how to apply the theory and approach to other problems.
Depending on when the application deadlines are and what Round of applications you're trying to make, that is a short deadline. However, we do have many students who do so, and even if you were to postpone your admission for a year, starting your GMAT prep now might be advisable so that you would have time to take it again if you wanted to, and more time to devote to your application essays. Our classes are structured to teach you everything you need to know, so you could definitely come in with no prior experience and still find the class to be beneficial to your studying. However, if you're looking to get some foundation, I would suggest looking through our free ebook, the GMAT Uncovered, to give you a better sense of the test itself. We use the first CAT as a diagnostic. It's a way to know what your starting point is, and a good way to have a sense of your initial strengths and weaknesses. We definitely suggest taking it before you've studied too much (which is why in the syllabus, we have you take it before the first session, or at the latest between the first and second weeks.)

Hi cclay,
I started a topic in other forum about the Manhattan gmay tests...... I don´t know how to make a link to that discussion so you can give us your opinion. Is under form - gmat experience and the topic is gmat prep vs manhattan gmat tests.
Hope you or someone that know the Manhattan cats very well can give us an opinion.

Interesting post but unfortunately I can't help you now because I've just started the course and got 610/q44/v31 on my first mCAT. But soon as I can compare it with the gmat prep I'll let you know because I wonder how close to the real gmat they are too.
