a group of hoofed animals that today includes cows, camels, pigs........

Should it not be: "a group of hoofed animals that today include cows, camels, pigs..."?

'that' should refer to hoofed animals and not group, correct? Then, it should be : "include" and not "includes"

C D E are eliminated since we need that after show.
show that is correct usage here

Discovery shows that x is more closely related to y than to z

Discovery shows x is more closely related to y -> incorrect grammar

hence between A and B B is gone since more closely as is incorrect grammar
more closely than is correct idiom .

IMO A

In addition to above points, One more point ,why B, C & E are wrong, is
S-V agreement of Group -> Includes

A is correct.

(B) is out: “dolphins are more … as” is wrong.
(C) is out. “they are” is not redundant
(D) and (E) are out. “dolphins as” is wrong.

Ans is (A)

A for me as well. "A group of mammals that today..." points to a singular verb.
