"it" in "it could strike ..." is not needed since the asteroid is the subject, not "it". remove the first clause and reconstruct the sentence.

b omits "that", should be "that could", so worng answer
c is the best choice
d changes meaning
e is awkward

C - best choice.

A - 'it' unnecessary
B - could possibly - wordy
other explanation holds as above.

B, D & E - Eliminate - Use of "might", "possibly"

Left A & C - I think A is a much better choice as C seems to be fragmented.

What is the OA?

I chose B and when you mentioned OA is C, I sent the question to Veritas support who advised that the answer should be B.

Where did you get this question? Which book?
