Hi, I have tried to list down all the poins i felt were need to check before you select any answer
1. Check for Subject verb agreement
2. Check for Pronoun Errors No pronoun should be dangling Each pronoun should refer to one and only one Noun While using It/Its and Their/Theirs special attention to be paid
3.Proper care to be taken for these words Among/Better - "Among" for more than two and "Better" for only two people As/Like -- "As" most of the times used as a conjuction and "Like" used most of the time a preposition Myself-not to be used as a substitute for I or me
4. Grammatical Construction
5. Idiom-
6. Verb Tenses
7. Parallelism
Please tell me what else i am supposed to look at as most of the times i manage to mark the wrong choice...................

I think what you have outlined is generally a good strategy but I think SC part needs a lot of practice before you can see the errors like a football. Prachi's SC blog is a good site. Do you have Manhattan SC ?
The most important thing you're missing on that list is diction i.e. the meaning of the sentence. Does an option change the meaning ever so subtly ? If so, it should be eliminated.
Kaplan is alright but most people on this forum don't reccomend Kaplan.I have attached copl of files.SC1000 and SC notes compiled by Dagny.I hope they are useful.All the best.
