1. last peice "sales fairly close to last year" is missing a "that of". To compensate we should say last year's [followed by ellipsis]. So eliminate A, B
2. E seperates decline and sales and is hence rejected.
3. C - "experienced upto 50%" does not sound okay. "experienced some effect/feeling" would have been better.
D sounds okay.

C for me.
1st elimination criteria - 'declines' - sales ... not correct.
2nd criteria - Estimated ... to be - correct usage.
3rd criteria - Last year's (or 'that' of last year)
