Answer is clear C , its subject/verb inversion case where mostly singular are termed plural and vice versa.

The empire brought the Aramaic script with it. Both X and y are derived from this. The more literary way of saying this is - both x and y derive from this.-

A similar example: Both India’s uniqueness and strength -are derived - from its cultural diversity and unity (or) Both India’s uniqueness and strength - derive - from its cultural diversity and unity.

You have to use the plural verb – derive - because the subject is –both the northern and southern Indian alphabets- a compound and plural one. Expressions such as - was derived, derives and driving - are all wrong

C is the correct answer.


Pls help me with following, what is the difference in meaning between below mentioned two options... i just want to know whether there is any diff in meaning or not.. if yes what

Bringing the arabic script with it

or

Bringing with it the arabic script
