I will try

particple captured is dangling in choices A,B & C
in otherwords word captured indicates as though enemy is captured. Here the sentence is trying to say "when the soldiers are captured by the enemy"

in D if captured is standing by itself, and indicates as though if information is captured, hence D is wrong

E correctly modifies men (soldiers) and conveys intended meaning. Hence it is right
