I stick to "A" here.
A uses split inifinitive, however, Conditional statement requires simple present to be followed by simple future.
e.g.
If Vladimir Putin resignes(Simple Present), there will be unrest in rusia(Simple Future).

I understand A has a split infinitive, D&E sounds grammatically wrong.

Can someone explain why B is wrong?
It sounds okay looking through MGMAT SC section on If...then... clauses

If present metal prices are continuing their sharp rise, the value of the copper in a penny will soon be ...
