This is a trap. I first thought it might be C.
This question came up sometime ago. The problem with C is that it is a split infinitive, i.e. "sharply rise" is incorrect, it should be "rise sharply"
another example is:
-I want you to quickly run (incorrect)
-I want you to run quickly (correct)
The only other contender is A
