Hi,
I am an international student who is new to GMAT.
Thus, I'd like to thank this site which has given a lot of beneficial information as to GMAT.
I'd like to ask you a quick question.
After taking practice test on GMATprep, I got Q48 V18 which made me feel depressed.
Q48 is understandable because I answered correctly more than 80%.
However, I do not understand why V is 18.. Since 21 out of 41 were correct.
That means almost 50% I got correct answers, doesn't it?
Thus, I got confused why I did not get scaled score either 28 or 29 instead of 18..
I am not sure whether this is normal on GMAT..
Please give me a clue.

Dont try to correlate #correct with the scaled score. In general the higher you get correct the more the scaled score should be, but don't try to figure out the increment. That is GMAT's claim to fame it is a secret. Just try to get as many correct as possible! Both sections can go upto 60, so they claim, never saw anyone here above 51 though...

Welcome to GMAT Club! As mainhoon pointed out, there is no correlation between the number of questions you get right and the scaled score apart from a general increasing trend. For instance, my Quant score on GMAT Prep was a 49 but I had 11 questions wrong.
Try to search the forum for the GMAT scores thread. You might get a little more clarity on how it might work. But meanwhile, try to focus your attention to understanding the proper strategies to attack the verbal section.
