Hello All,
I have been on this forum for about a year and a half, but this the first time I post.
I currently got admitted to Scheller and still waiting to hear back from Owen. I am interested in management consulting or product management in the tech industry.
My question is which school would be a better option for me to achieve my goals, assuming I get into Owen as well?
Also, this is not a deal breaker, but I would like to come back to Texas after graduation. Which brand would give me a better chance to recruit in Texas.
My Background
Job: Sales/Applications Engineer in the Houston Area. I provide inspection solutions in many industries such as aerospace, nuclear, power generation, etc.
Undergrad: Industrial Engineering, Minor in Business
GMAT:
Total: 670
Quant Score: 49
Verbal Score: 33

Hi. I think Owen would be a stronger play being a more regional program but having a strong Vanderbilt brand. Also it is bigger, attracting more employers and having a bigger alum base. Scheller is pretty small. However, most likely you would still be recruiting off campus at both programs. Still Owen would be a stronger play though not sure by how much. Let me know if you think I am off somewhere.

I got an admission from Owen today.
I had the same thought process as you to be honest. The ranking and employment opportunities are relatively close, but the Vanderbilt brand gives it the slight edge.
Considering the scholarships awarded, the tuition would be similar for both schools.
I understand that i would need to recruit off-campus for both, but which brand do you think would have stronger image for employers in Texas?
Also, i really want to thank you BB, Bunuel, and the rest for all the help that you have provided in this forum, which was instrumental in my GMAT prep. You guys rock!
