Good day all!
I'm applying for R2 for MIT-Harvard-Oxford and plan to use a state scholarship for funding. However, it got rejected for reasons (my own mistake). Now I have a few options
Option 1: Keep applying for round 2 and re-apply for the scholarship
This runs the risk of not getting the scholarship again, and thus will require me to try to defer or withdraw and re-apply to the school for 2025.
Assume I get into in R2 but don't get the scholarship again. I know deferrals due to lack of funding are very rare so I wouldn't count on that. If I were to withdraw, would it count as a reapplication? Would it hurt the next R1?
Option 2: Stop my R2 application completely, and apply for R1 next year and the 2025 Scholarship intake.
I really don't really like Option 2 since I will need to wait another year, but Option 1 is risky.
What do you think will be the best course of action?
PS: the scholarship opens in January and September, and it prefers candidates with acceptance.
I uploaded a simple diagram to make it easier to understand
