Hi There,
I scored a 690 on GMAT, will have 3+ yrs of work-ex in a Fortune 200 IT consultancy firm (more of a technical role) by the time I join a Univ next year.

There are a few doubts and would really appreciate if anyone could help me out....

1) I want to pursue a career in Consultancy, but am not very sure which are the good Business schools, which can help me in this endeavour. I could find a categorization of schools based on their fields of specialization (e.g Finance, Marketing, Entreprn. etc) in business week, but could not find anything substantial related to Consultancy.
Having said that, I am already aware that the Ultra-Elite schools are definitely the best bet, but to be on the safer side, I would like to apply to a diverse range of schools.

I have a few in mind, but am not very sure. These are Kelloggs, Cornell (Johnson), UCB (Haas), Notre Dam, Indiana (Kelly), UTA. Please suggest.

2) What are the prospects after doing an MBA from Melbourne Business School (Australia)?

Thanx for the quick response Hjort !

The link sent by you does help but could you also suggest 2-3, so called, 'Safe Schools' (Ranked between 20-35).
They may not be the best bet for Mngmnt Consulting, but schools which are still considered decent by the Consultancy Firms.

Any help in this aspect would be really appreciated !

If you have already evaluated the ultra elites and elites, take a look at the trans elite cluster programs (eg Emory, USC, UNC etc).

Beyond the trans elites it becomes somewhat more complicated since consulting firms appear to do most of their hiring in the top three clusters. Of course, students in lower clusters are welcome to apply and can be successful but it is not a high probability event.
