Thank you for responding brandon432.
I'm actually looking at Booth since I have a fraternity brother that just finished the program and loved it.
I'm seriously committed to doing an MBA because I believe that only in an MBA will I be able to receive an education that focuses on leadership, management, innovation, multi-sector collaboration and quantitative methodology. Most other programs will address one or two of the aforementioned factors, but not all. As someone that is interested in sustaining lasting positive change, I believe that an MBA will provide the opportunity to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and set effective policy. In other words, I'm extremely committed to the MBA.
The reason I rather retake the GRE, is because I know I was rushed when I took the est last time. I was teaching throughout the whole time and I barely spent less than 10 hours studying for it. I know with a real commitment to studying I can move my quantitative score to where I need it to be. (I taught Algebra 2 and Geometry, and although my timing is off, seldom does a question completely through me off.) More so, the better my GRE, the better my chance of gaining admission, and more importantly scholarship, to the top policy schools in the country. (HKS, Harris, Ford, Heinz, Sanford) Lastly, as a first-generation American, the grammar of the GMAT terrifies me. I did my grammar school in Central America and it is certainly not my strong suit. Vocabulary on the other hand, comes naturally to me.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. The SNVC is already making Chicago more attractive!
