Edited it, U can revisit the solution now, thanks.

I ticked out A and M, I understood your logic, but can you please tell me why A and M cant be the answer also H and I?
Kaifbinarshad
The samples belong to one of the three gene pools- E, A, M, C, H, I

first study- the sample E has either A or M: (E, A) and (E, M)
Second study- the sample which contained M also contained either C or H:(M, C) and (M, H)
third study- (H, I)
fourth study is the validation which means scientists are concluding based on the observations from the first three studies that whichever sample they took if A was in it then so was M, which is (A, M)

I- (E, A) and (E, M)
so going by validation (or study IV), there is A in (E, A), so M MUST be in it which makes it (E, A, M) and (E, M) as it is (i assumed that if M is there in a sample so is A and went on wrong line of reasoning)
II- (M, C) and by study III, if H is in a sample so is I, which makes it (M, H, I)
III-(H, I), as it is
IV-(A, M), as it is,

for clearer observation, let's rewrite it
I- (E, A, M), (E, M)
II- (M, C), (M, H, I)
III- (H, I)
IV- (A, M)

If "E" is in a group so is "M".
