Took the gmat over the weekend - (690,Q-48(86%),V-35(77%))
Retake?
Should I retake to get into a top-10 school? Verbal is below 80% - a concern?
I think I can increase my score to 720-730 with another 1-1.5 months of prep- is it worth it or should i concentrate on essays/app?
I have posted this query to Linda also.

Test feedback:
AWA topics were real easy.
It helped get my heart rate down for the quant section.
Quant- about 4 comb/prob questions. Overall - like kaplan Quant. Except for 1 prob Q,rest was pretty ok.
Verbal- 1 RC was 75lines long..through me off a lil bit. CR,SC was ok - 800score'ish.
Slightly surprised with the 690..thought i would hit a 710-720 after i was done. Guess not !!
Take both your breaks to the fullest.
Mine was the 12-4 slot. The power bars kept me going. Practise with earplugs at home - may help a little whenu use them at the center.
Sleep well the night before. Prepare a quick chit-sheet for SC (idioms),PS (formulaes) for final day check.
Dont take a prep test the day before.
Prep feedback:
This is how i went about it.
Good info on this site guys ..thanks!
1. Start with Kaplan Diagnostic Test. Get your initial score estimate.
2. Read through the Kaplan GMAT book. Take Kaplan-book test.
3. Kaplan CD (Work through all section problems). (Start taking 1 test every weekend-timed with study material covered during the week)
4. Princeton review test ( Good verbal info and 5 tests)
5. 800score.com (5 tests)
(Note: Mix tests from PR, 800 and Kap. Kap is going to be the toughest. Add 70-90 points from ur kap scores. Subtract 10-40 points from your 800 and PR scores. Gmatclub has a score estimator that you can use.)
6.
Official guide (start from the back .. should do at least 100qs from each section. Take 25PS and 12 DS qs at a time to mimic a math test. Same w verbal. Make sure to time yourself).
7. Kaplan Verbal Workout – Good Qs.
8. Kaplan Math Workout – Good math review
9. Deltacourse.com (good probability material. >700 scorers w see at least 3-4 prob qs)
10. End with Kaplan 800 material ( do this well .. esp SC and DS. )
11. Take one test every week and take about 15-17 tests (Start taking AWA sections during the last 10). Use Arco’s essay book for AWA.
12. Take one PP test at the beginning and one towards the end
Use a Spreadsheet to track your efforts - could not cheat after this
Use a Spreadsheet to capture mistakes and hone on areas for improvement - the gmatclub has a template that i used.
Hope it helps!
