Hey Guys,
I started preparing for the GMAT during the lock down situation of COVID 19 as it gave me sufficient time to balance between studies and work.
However, recently the workload has increased significantly and I am not able to dedicate time towards the prep.
It would be great, if someone could suggest a study plan or tips to balance out between the two.
Note: I have completed the basics required for Quant and Verbal. However, I am yet to practice extensively on various question types.
GMAT Prep Mock Score - 590 (Q45 V28)
Target score - 700+
Expected GMAT Test date - September/ October 2020.
Thanks,
Hi,
I completely understand that it is really challenging to balance the work life and studies. To do this in an optimal way, you need to create the right study plan with clear deadlines. It is really nice that you have reached out addressing the right problem. Let me help you out here.
As you are a working professional, creating an ideal study plan will be always a challenge so you can check
GMATWHiz which can help you create a personalized study plan. There is a free trial for which you can register and create a study plan with clear deadlines. Once you register, it asks you for the number of hours you can dedicate in a week and based on that creates the
study plan with weekly deadlines. This way it would be easy to follow that and also you can completely focus on the preparation instead of spending time on making study plan. And the best part about the
plan is it is
totally integrated with the course. All you need to do is click on the Start button and it will give you the right lessons and quizzes as you’re supposed to go through in the right order.
Coming to your scores, the Quant score is pretty decent but there is still scope for improvement. The main concern here is the Verbal part. To improve your Verbal score, you need to put a considerable effort in
learning the concepts and also the strategies required to solve GMAT like questions. Remember that
GMAT is not just the test of concepts but also the strategies. To do that, I recommend you to follow a
personalized approach in which you can learn the concepts along with the methodology.
GMATWhiz has a unique way of teaching the Verbal part. The unit 1 of every module starts with the focus on strategy. The next units deal with individual topics and teach you by following the 3 steps.
1. Teaches you the concepts.
2. Teaches you the methodology required to solve GMAT like questions
3. Lets you take practice quizzes and thereby analyse your weaknesses and work on them.
It comes with real-time improvement modules after finishing a particular concept.
