My first GMAT attempt was in July, 2023. I started studying in April, had serious gaps in basic math skills as I was tackling quants after a gap of almost 5 years. Scored 530 on the blind mock and then after studying the basics through OG and GMAT Club for w months, scored 530 again!
I took TTP's 5 day free trial and fell in love! Unfortunately, it was too late since I had exam scheduled in 2 weeks.
Got 650 on the mock a week before the test, and score dropped to 540 on the actual test.
I had to take a hiatus from GMAT to study for CFA Level 1 exam in November (I passed after 4 months of studying!).
Resumed GMAT study in mid November, this time with a structured approach. Invested in TTP's course and saw huge improvements in my quant skills. I spent about 80% of my prep time on covering the quants section on TTP before taking my first official on 31st December.
These were my mock scores (no retakes):
*Mock 3: 600 - Q47 V25 IR4
Mock 4: 690 - Q47 V37 IR5
*Mock 5: 630 - Q43 V34 IR5
Mock 6: 710 - Q47 V41 IR7
*On mock 3 & 5, I had taken Quants first. Looking at the differences in scores, I decided to go with Verbal first on the actual test.
Actual Test: 560 - Q41 V27 IR5
I wasn't too worried about the low verbal score since I knew I would be able to get it up with dedicated study (which I did, atleast on the mocks).
Let's say my score range is 43-47 on quants and 34-41 on verbal, how long should it take me to be ready for the Focus edition?
For context: I work full-time, but I managed to study for about 4-5hrs on average everyday for 2 months.
