Hmm...Bendi,

I dunno what went wrong. It sounds like you had done every thing that you could do right. Some things are just not in our control. The only thing that is in Your hands is to make a decision to write the test again and CRACK it out of shape.

I am sure you can do it.

Aha...I had similiar experience. I took the test 1/23/06, felt good during the test, but I scored a 490 (Q42 V17). :(
I used to score more than 550 in my practice tests.
I was using Kaplan, PR, Powerprep, and GMATprep tests to practice. But I never had such a low verbal score.

Any idea for that?

I most likely take the 2nd attempt next month.

Good luck for all us here.....

I too have a somewhat similar experience. I never scored lower than 48 in quant in any of the test (including Kaplan - which some here say is tougher) but in actual test my score was a pathetic 43. I also felt so great and expected a 50 or more, was shocked to see the real score. One thing to note, I never got a tougher question at all, so maybe I was assuming that I screwed up in the begining. (I thought I double checked the answers which I never did in any of my practice tests!). My verbal was more than any of the practice tests, (practice greatest was 31...actual was 36).

Hey Everyone,
I took the GMAT today and got below a 500. It sucked! I felt like I was guessing on every math problem. I felt like I was prepared for those questions that ask you like, if Joe reads 50 pages an hour and Sarah reads 44 pages an hour, how much do they read together.....but nope. All of my math questions were exponents, decimals. I felt like I rocked verbal but I guess not....I dont know how to explain it. I used OG, Kaplan 800, and PR along w/ Power Prep and Kaplan practice sets on CD.

I will be taking it again. I dont know if I should take the Kaplan course?

Based upon recent posts, I'm starting to believe the test has changed since it has moved to Pearson. In December, before Pearson took over the test, I scored a 530 while I had the flu. I just returned from the test, healthy, we'll rested and almost all of the OG questions under my belt from an extra 5 weeks of studying and my score dropped down to 480. What is going on here?

I noticed the quant test wasn't what I expected. I expected a lot more word problems including ratios and percentages. You know, the questions we study for in the OG, Kaplan and Princeton books. But instead I found a lot more data sufficieny questions, and problems with exponents. I'm confused.
