Despite the username, my goal score has always been a 740.
On Saturday, I took the GMAT in person, and scored a 730 (Q48 V42). It killed me to fall 10 points short of my goal score, so I decided to take the online GMAT (having never prepped for it) the next day. The score for Sunday was a 740, but with lower quant (45) and higher verbal (47).
Which score would schools prefer? Can I report both?
Background - Looking at Stern, Columbia. Major: History Minors: Economics, Cinematic Arts GPA: 3.51 (Cum laude)

Could you post the experience of both the exams? What did you find different did you do the exam in the same order

Congrats on the score!
I don't think it makes sense to not report your highest score. Online vs. in-person should make no difference. If you are concerned about the perception of your quant profile and want schools to see your Q48, maybe reach out to them to see how they would prefer you to report it. I've heard some places might consider your "superscore", but I'm not sure what's the best way to go about showing that.
