It's certainly possible, but (and this is anecdotal, not statistically proven) most people I've seen who broke into the mid sevens were scoring low sevens (or at least high sixes) in Kaplan.
I know a lot of people hate Kaplan, but it seems to be a good barometer; you need to be doing very well on Kaplan math to get a 49-51 on the quant section of the actual test.
Now, if you're just kickass in verbal, you can probably throw what I said out the window, because 45+ verbal scores seem awfully rare.
The best gauge of your potential can probably be arrived at by taking a bunch of the real old paper tests.
In summary, I think you can do it, but it's not going to be easy.
