Hi NilayMaheshwari,

Based on your practice test scores, I do think anxiety could have been a major issue for you. For some tips on how to battle your test anxiety, give this a read:

How to Eliminate GMAT Test-Day Anxiety

Regarding how to move forward with your prep before your retake, engaging in topical practice is a great way to improve your skills. Let's use quant as an example.

For example, let’s say you want to practice Number Properties. You can do so by answering 50 or more questions just from Number Properties: LCM, GCF, units digit patterns, divisibility, remainders, etc.
After each problem set, it's crucial to delve into the questions you answered incorrectly. For instance, if you stumbled on a remainder question, take a moment to reflect. Was it a careless error? Did you fail to apply the remainder formula correctly? Was there a concept in the question that eluded you? This analysis is key to your learning process.

By carefully analyzing your mistakes, you will be able to fix your weaknesses efficiently and, in turn, improve your GMAT quant skills. Number Properties is just one example; follow this process for all quant, verbal, and DI topics.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Good luck!

All great tools.

I'll throw a couple more ideas in the ring.

1. Do you know how fast you read? You can assess your reading speed here: https://app.mindflowspeedreading.com/free/speed-read. If you're reading less than 350 words per minute your performance is compromised. Add to that the anxiety, and you're just dragging yourself down and reading faster (which is a VERY easy and quick think to learn and utilize) buys you MORE time to answer questions. This will benefit you not ONLY in reading comprehension (but you can improve up to 28% and read up to 5x faster) but also the rest of the test.

2. If you share 'why' and 'how' you thought you had test anxiety I can provide direct suggestions. Tests don't only measure what You know, they also measure how you take tests.

There are SO many ways to address nerves - - and rather than go to the 'buffet' of never ending techniques, you want to pinpoint effective tools, fast, to address your personal issue.

Sometimes 'breathing' better helps. Sometimes reframing or listening to soothing music or binaural beats! And sometimes it's working with a coach for a couple of hours to help you get out of your own way. The good news is this is the easiest and quickest aspect of prep, and once you learn how to eliminate an unwanted symptom, you'll have this tool for life! We've worked with students since 2005 with the mental game of test taking -- what we refer to as 'sports psychology' for test takers. From hypnosis, to Neuro-linguistic programming, to bilateral stimulation, EMDR and vagus nerve support - - you really can get out of your own way, and perform your best when it counts the most!
