I feel somewhat ridiculous posting this considering my overall score, but here goes:
Took the GMAT today and got a 760 (Q49/V47), but got a 5 on IR (52nd percentile). I expect a high mark on AWA.
Would the 5 on IR merit a retake? Here are some personal details that may come into play:
- Won't be applying to business school until ~2018 as I just graduated from college (perhaps schools will start taking the IR section more seriously; also, what if a 5 on IR drops below 50th percentile by this time?)
- 3.80 / 4.00 GPA in Economics at a top 25 school
- Will be working as an analyst in the investment banking division of a bulge bracket bank for ~2 years
- The grand majority of analysts from my office exit to private equity firms, where they spend another 2-3 years (I hope to do this)
- I want to attend a top 10 business school program
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
