I just wanted to thank everyone at GMAT club for the great resources and inspirational stories. I took the GMAT for the second time yesterday and I scored a 690, with a 49Q and 35V. This was a 110 point increase over the 580 I recieved last summer after taking the Kaplan study course. This time around I gave myself about 3 months to study as opposed to 6 weeks last year and I primarily used the GMAT Club, OG, and Kaplan books.
My practice scores were as follows:
GMAT Prep CAT 2 640 - 3 days before test
Kaplan CAT 3 540 - week before test
GMAT Prep CAT 1 660 - week and a half before test
I previously took all 9 ETS practice tests and consistently scored between a 640 and 690
I also took the two other CAT tests to begin my studies and scored a 520 and 540
Unlike many other members of this site I didn't end up taking the essay parts with most of my practice tests. I don't believe this affected my stamina on the test but I will probably end up with only a 4 or 4.5 on the AWA.
Once again I just want to thank everyone for thier help and inspiration! I could have never reached this score without you all!
