Materials:
OG for QA and Verbal Aptitude
Manhattan for Verbal Aptitude--Since I am not a native English Speaker I decided to start right from the foundations. I went through the entire reading material on Verbal Aptitude by Manhattan.
Official mocks
Manhattan Mocks
Strategy:
Take the diagnostic tests provided in the OG for identifying your weak areas. Work accordingly on the weak areas.
DON'T SKIP ANY OG QUESTIONS! -- Try extracting the most out of the OG questions.
Maintain an
Error Log. Revisit the questions in the
Error Log once you are done with practicing all the OG questions.
For SC nothing beats the OG. Go through the explanations thoroughly. Understand why certain options are incorrect. Even if you get the answer right check whether you were able to discern all the reasons that made the other options incorrect. Keep notes on the same too.
Practice the daily questions posted on the GMAT club. Solve the questions with the
GMAT Timer. This will help you with the time management part of the exam.
After a few months of practice, you will get better at recognizing topics that you are weak at. Utilize this link(
gmatclub.com/forum/search.php?view=search_tags) to filter questions from your weak areas and practice until you get 90-95% accuracy. Also, sort the questions by the number of kudos. Good quality questions will have a higher number of kudos.
For QA I went through the OG Material. I also bought the Manhattan Mocks. But I think Manhattan's QA questions are tougher than the official questions. So don't be discouraged if you are not scoring well in QA on the Manhattan Mocks.
Please practice the official mocks in a proper test environment.
Utilize GMAT Club in case you cannot understand the explanation for a question. Go through the explanations posted by the experts. Don't restrict yourself to reading the 1st explanation. There are multiple ways to solve a question. Make sure to go through the first three explanations, if not all.
I cannot emphasize this enough-Please make the most out of the GmatClub. You will find the answers to all your queries here. If you are having difficulty with certain topics look for discussions on how people who had been in a similar situation tackled the same.
Hope this helps!
(I scored a Q46 and V42. Overall 710-91 Percentile)
