Hello everybody,
Today I am here to share my GMAT's experience and hopefully get some good advices from you.
Targeting 710 score!
A little bit about me : I am 23 years old and I am working in the Marketing field (I come from a social sciences background so, I never really study Math in my life). Plus, I am not an English native.
About the GMAT:
I did my first CAT test with the Economist gmat in February and at the time I scored 330! YES… I don't think I have ever seen anyone around with such a low score.
Anyway I started my preparation about 2 weeks after this test. And since then I have done 2 more Cat tests (from the Economist gmat program):
- 28/03/2014 : 380 (Q25, V20)
- 24/05/2014 : 440 (Q31, V21)
I have been using :
- The Economist Gmat
- Veritas' and Manhattan's books
- The Official Guide
- E-gmat (I attended some of their free online courses)
I am studying everyday (week days: around 2 hours, weekend: around 6 hours).
I feel I taking to much time to understand concepts and my score is not improving as fast as I would like to. Could you please help me and give some tips? I feel lost…

Hi Daniela,
Considering how you scored on your first practice CAT, you've made some reasonable progress during your studies. You clearly have a lot more work to do though to hit your score goals though. I think that part of your difficulty is that you have tried to use so many different resources during your studies, so you did not have the consistent advice and guidance that should help you to score higher.
I have some questions about your Official GMAT:
1) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores?
2) Did you have to rush to finish any of the sections (and did you have to guess on a bunch of questions?)? Did you leave any questions unanswered?
Thankfully, the GMAT is a predictable, standardized Test so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

Thanks for your answer.
You might be right about the different sources.
1) Scale (Q27% V25%)
2) I rushed to finish the Quant section (I guessed like 3 or 4 questions) / My Verbal section went very bad. I have been trying to focus on the Qt first!
Any tips?
