Hi guys, I just did my GMAT and scored 620(47Q, 28V(!!!)).
I’m very disappointed with this score because my target was 700+.
I did my first ever mock test (from the GMAT Official Guide) a couple months ago without studying and got a 600(39Q, 34V). After that I managed to study a lot this summer (from July to September) since I was neither working nor studying because i finished all my exams. I didn’t have much time the last days of July and the first days of August because I spent some vacation time in Europe.
The week before the exam I took 3 more official mock test to assess my preparation and scored:
710 (Q49, V38)
700 (Q47, V38)
720 (Q49, V40)
Because of this results I was pretty confident about the possibility of getting my target score. Also, during test day I adopted all the “best practices”: slept 7 hours, did some questions before the exam, drank some water and was also pretty calm.
Nonetheless I was very frustrated when the 620, and especially the 28 in verbal, popped up.
I really don’t know what went wrong, considering that during the real exam I felt in verbal the same confidence as I did in the mock tests. I’m not always 100% sure about the answers that I give, but i don’t understand how my score dropped that much.
I’m thinking about retaking it in 16 days because i’m confident about my abilities, if you have any suggestion about what to do in the period before the retake I will appreciate them a lot.
