I am using the 2009 Kaplan guide until my new arrives. On the practice at the end of each chapter, I am getting around 70% of the questions right. Using this as a guide, where could I expect my scores to be? I am simply checking to see if I am sufficiently prepared.

Hi cmax,
The quizzes at the end of each section are designed to help you practice, but they aren't scaled to be diagnostic, unfortunately! Your best bet to tell if you are prepared is to take a practice test--I recommend the official GMATPrep exams from https://www.mba.com, as the 2009 version of the CATs sometimes gave irregular score reports due to an issue we've subsequently fixed.

Thank you for your response. I took a practice test I downloaded without any prep, and made a 460 on just the math and verbal/reading parts. What is the actual breakdown of the scoring? I still can't find what the essay questions are worth. My goal is to make a 600. Thanks again for your help.
