SDA is a very strong program however I'm kind of wondering why you were shooting for Kellogg and now SDA. Are you thinking that you didn't get in because of your GMAT GPA or work experience? Because could be that you just didn't execute the application very well, or in a way that speaks to the adcom in the US. I have an HBS admit from Spain who had a completely different idea about how to go about this process, because from a cultural standpoint what I recommended was extremely different then what works in Spain. I don't necessarily think that you should conclude that your stats weren't high enough for Kellogg and so you should go for SDA, unless that's really your heart's calling. Get help, reapply to Kellogg and throw in a couple of other schools that are strong in both Healthcare and Marketing such as Duke. Would encourage you to put LBS in the mix there because they are strong in both reputation across Europe and marketing as well.

Thank you again for you answer. Yes I thought that I didn't get into Kellogg because of my GMAT (or maybe not since what you were saying). My nightmare is wasting one more year maybe trying to get into Kellogg or INSEAD or LSB (I'm already 30) and ending up with nothing.

I understand where you are coming from but I don't think that is a very likely scenario. First of all GMAT is only one part of the picture, of course if it's seriously low and you have no other proof of academic aptitude that is a different thing. Italians are under-represented in US schools so I still think it's a good strategy and that your application is the issue. Regards to your age, there's not much to be concerned about from the European standpoint, the average age at HEC is 30. And other EU/US schools are either the same or not far behind. So I think you should give it another go I really think you should just diversify where you apply so that it isn't just one school with a super high GMAT. There are several other schools in the US that have a strength in marketing. Duke has a relatively low GMAT threshold strong in marketing and is also very strong in health care. But given the application you submitted you might even want to continue striving for M7. If M7 doesn't work out I believe that you can then apply to HEC or INSEAD for January term. I have a little bit of extra time right now and would be willing to spend 45 mins reviewing your Kellogg application send your essay is your CV and your recommendations over. Info@mbaprepcoach.com
