A couple of years ago I remember browsing through the Broad MBA (MSU) website and seeing Indian MBA's doing their second MBA over there.

Most of the top 15 schools would have an Indian Student Association / South Asian Student Association. You could also check ith them.

Maybe you are already doing this - If not, I would also suggest that you do some serious volunteering to show how you spent time in US. By volunteering, I mean that you take up active responsibility in the affairs of the organization (eg: local chapter of United Way) and not just donate time. Even though you are studying for the CFP certification the volunteering will show that you have not remained idle and that you have gained leadership / real world work experience. That will also help mitigate your lower work experience.

Most of the Brazilian "MBAs" don't count as the first one. In some countries in South America, Brazil included, the term MBA is related even to short term courses - which even made the MBA term to be diluted there. As a consequence many top schools in the USA and Europe accept students from Brazil who have these "MBAs". I have you friend who even had an MBA from a good Brazilian University (not these so random MBAs) and still took his MBA at Sloan. Perhaps it is the same case with Indian MBAs.

That's a good idea...to check it with the admissions committee....at least in that way I will apply only to the schools that would consider me and not waste my resources everywhere.....
And guys one more thing- this forum is so much better and you people give genuine advice ...I posted the same query on some other forum and was so disappointed by the responses...

Really appreciate...

Hi folks

I am a new member in the forum and I have certain doubts about pursuing MBA from a good B School( top 15) in U.S

Below is a my brief profile
- A foreign resident in U.S( currently on h4)...came here 7 months back.
- Already an MBA from some random institute in India
- Have a work ex of 2.5 yrs.
-currently pursuing CFP certification.

Considering that Iam not from IT background( which most Indians are) do u think B Schools would consider me for second MBA....Will a previous MBA bleak my chances of getting into a good B School here....???

Kindly advise.....

Thanks in advance...

Why dont u consider PHD in business instead?
