Hi, I had a quick question about the GMAT exam structure. Does performance in one section affect the starting difficulty level of the next section? For example, if I begin with a section that I’m relatively weaker in and perform poorly, would that cause the next section to start at a lower difficulty level compared to if I had started with a stronger section and performed well there? I just wanted to understand whether the starting point of each section depends on performance in the previous section.

Hi gmatftw777,
Yes, performance on the first section affects the starting point of the second section, and performance on the second section affects the starting point of the third section. GMAC reps say this is a minor tweak, so test takers probably won't notice much of a difference.
