If you're aspiring towards placement opportunities in one particular sector post MBA (say, IT and IT enabled services), is experience in that particular sector (pre-MBA) preferred by the recruiters?
Since most offers are made by IT and ITeS companies, can 'not having a background in IT' mean that you'll be left out of their recruitment exercise?
In short, can you switch your industry post MBA?

Yes! A lot of folks go for MBA for career change. And prior experience depends on what industry you want to work in. Also, you can show online courses if you have, for the industry you’re aiming. Just remember that what your career goals are you need to fit in their requirements.

If you can show your transferable skills from your previous work/industry to your target work/industry, I don't see a lot of trouble in switching. A lot of people use the MBA to make the transition
