Hi everyone, I'm hoping to apply to a T20 MBA school to apply in Round 1. Would love to receive some feedback on my profile and my chances of getting in:
28, M, Indian
GMAT score of 710 (Q49, V38)
Undergrad: A BSc in Business and Management from a UK university, studied in Singapore. Received 2nd Upper Class Honours.
Was the President of the public speaking club from 2016-17, mentored and conducted workshops for 100+ university students as the head trainer, had 1-on-1 mentoring sessions with newer members of the club, emceed multiple events for the university including 3 Open House events, and received an award from the university that recognise student leaders.
Employment: 6 years in the family business across 2 different companies. Working in the manufacturing, service and export industries, been in a leadership role for the majority of this period. Added new customers in new markets, generated over $USD 10 million in business, and looking after multiple verticals in the company such as operations, customer communications and finances. Implemented measures to make work experience better for shopfloor employees.
Recommenders: Since I cannot get a recommendation from anyone in my company due to the nature of our business, will get recommendations from our vendors and customers.
Extracurriculars: Volunteer at a gurudwara(place of worship for Sikhs), and serve free meals to the visitors. Approximately 10-20 hours per month
Goals: To start my own business in the same industry, leverage existing vendors and product knowledge to establish a supply chain, and to learn more on how to make that happen through the MBA program.
Ideal Schools: Ross, Yale SOM, Haas, Fuqua, LBS, IE. I have not considered M7 at the moment since I am not 100% sure if I would have a chance of making it in.
Appreciate any feedback or suggestions, thank you in advance!
