Hi ya'll - experts and fellow aspirants !
I am planning to restart my GMAT preparation after a long gap of 2-3 months. To give you a fair idea of my past preparation, I am elaborating study materials I referred and proficiency level I had before this long break.
Quant :being from an engineering background , I didn't follow any specific material. I brushed the basic concepts from a guidebook of a local coaching institute. Solved OG13 and did GMATclub quant tests every now and then (scored between the range of 41-49..was constantly scoring more than 47 towards the end). I would solve questions from GMATclub forum under different tags to solidify my weak areas. So in all I was fairly confident of my Quant preparation.
Materials used : OG13,
GMATclub tests, GMATclub forum
Verbal:For verbal I followed
e-gmat live prep course. I found their SC as fairly thorough and good...Didn't like their CR much and found RC average...Therefore I read Powerscore CR bible which I found very helpful..For RC I followed Manhattan strategy guide , which was also decent.. I would say my proficiency level was good in SC , average in RC and I struggled in CR..Towards the end of this period I also solved GMAC's question pack with a decent accuracy level. Though I only attempted few sectional tests for Verbal from unofficial sources (2-3).
Materials used :OG13, Verbal Review 2nd edition,
E-gmat course, Powerscore CR bible, Manhattan RC strategy guide,GMAC question Pack
Throughout this preparation period I felt that CR was my biggest weakness followed by RC.I would always take more than 2 minutes per question in CR , and still the accuracy level would remain around 50-60%. I didn't practice RC much, but always felt that I could improve in this section with little more practice.
Not giving full length CATs was the biggest blunder that I committed throughout this period.
Hence, here I am after 3 months raring to go to the battlefield again and score a win over this beast
. I would be more than grateful if some one can help me in creating a plan/do's/don't/any strategy/tips for next 1.5 months. I have covered everything once. I just need to refresh everything that I had learnt while also strengthening my weak areas . Apart from that I need to develop test temperament that was so missing from my overall prep the last time around.
Thanks in advance !!
Cheers
