Seeking advice on choosing the most suitable GMAT preparation platform

Hello everyone, my name is Nayan, and I'm delighted to meet all of you. As a recent graduate from India at the age of 22, I'm excited to start preparing for the New GMAT focus edition. I'm reaching out today to seek your valuable advice and guidance.
Let me provide you with some insights into my abilities. I have a strong command of the English language, but I believe there is still room for improvement. On the other hand, my quantitative skills are currently weak. However, I am determined and motivated to overcome this challenge with time.
At this stage, I'm looking for guidance on how to begin my GMAT preparation and which platform would be most suitable for my needs. I've come across various recommendations on this forum, suggesting that eGMAT is highly effective for improving English skills, while TTP stands out for mathematics. Additionally, I've learned that the verbal section of the GMAT Focus edition is not significantly more difficult than the previous version.
Considering my intermediate level of English proficiency and below-average aptitude in mathematics, I would greatly appreciate your input on selecting the most suitable platform for my studies.

The gmatclub study plan post mentions a variety of resources you can check out. If you're taking the Focus, being aware of the topics covered/not covered compared to the current version could be helpful to structure your prep. Fair to say including the O-G 2023 in any prep path would be a solid choice. There's a free gmatclub math guide you can also download/check out.

You can see all of TTP by signing up for the trial and thus determine whether it meets your needs. As you said the Quant portion of TTP is very strong, and you may be surprised by the comprehensiveness of the Verbal portion as well.

In addition, TTP expects to release a GMAT Focus-optimized version of the course within about a week so that all TTP users will be able to prepare optimally for either the current GMAT or the Focus Edition with the flip of a switch. The GMAT Focus version of the TTP course will include everything GMAT students need to master the GMAT Focus Edition including comprehensive Data Insights prep materials and none of what you don't need to master it. So, we're pretty excited about this new version of the course, which enables great prep for this new version of the GMAT that may be the best GMAT version yet since it's so focused on business.

Hi abeljr,

We last discussed your studies back in November (more than 6 months ago). At that time, you were planning to take the GMAT sometime in the first half of 2023. Did you take the Official GMAT as scheduled? If so, then when - and how did you score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

The new GMAT Focus edition is supposedly going to be available to take in the last few months of 2023 (although an official start date has not been locked-in yet). That new version removes SC, Geometry and the Issue essay, BUT places IR in a new section (called Data Insights) - meaning that IR will actually impact your Overall Score, while it currently does not). The current version of the GMAT will also be available to take until some time in early 2024 - meaning that there will be several months in which you can take EITHER version of the GMAT.

I'd also like to know a bit more about how you've been studying and your current goals:

Studies:
1) What type of study routine have you been following? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) Is your overall goal score still 750 or something else (it's worth noting that the GMAT Focus Edition has a different 'Score table' from the current version of the GMAT)?
5) Are you still planning to apply to MiM Programs? What are your current application plans/deadlines?
