Hi All,
I've been a lurker for quite some time, but thought I would reach out to you all for some study advice.
I've registered to take the GMAT on May 9th, so in about 3 months from today. I've started studying for a bit at the end of last year and a few weeks this year via the Kaplan Premier 2015 book and website. I realize this book is an entry level book, but I really like the questions offered via their website (can customize questions based on difficulty and types, and provides explanations for each).
I am now at the level where I feel the need to purchase an additional study tool. I've read the sticky threads suggesting the
MGMAT series, OG book, etc. but I learn best via question sets and explanations rather than reading from books (hands on type of guy). If I don't have something engaging, I get bored pretty easily (maybe I have a mild form of ADD, I don't know), but I really like the challenges of solving problems, then reviewing how to do the harder ones correctly.
That being said, I've been looking at the GMAT Club question bank for a while (I think they offer a 3 month plan for 1300+ questions). I've also considered the GMAT Pill. Not sure which is the best for me.
Are the
MGMAT and OG books absolutely necessary? Can I get away with just doing the GMAT Club questions or GMAT Pill? Which would you recommend of the two?
A little background for myself: I am currently working full time as an engineer, about 40 hours a week. To be honest, I haven't spent a whole lot of time studying (maybe 5 hours a week), but since my actual exam is coming up in 3 months, I will definitely dedicate more time. I have taken two practice exams and scored in the mid-high 500s. Like everyone else, my goal is to get a 700+, and from what I've been reading it seems that a majority of the people scoring 700+ have used the
MGMAT and OG in some way. I am writing all the Quant problems I got wrong on individual note cards (with the answer on the back) but aside from that don't really have an
error log.
Thanks guys.
