I recently took my GMAT after preparing for 2.5-3 months while working full-time (mostly on the weekends as I am working full-time and finish past midnight often). My score was underwhelming - I received a 710 (Q50, V35). There are couple of reasons why I am rather unhappy with this score:
1. I do not think 710 gives me a fighting chance to get into the programs I am targeting
2. In the two official mocks I took I scored V42 (Q49, 740) and V44 (Q50, 770) (albeit the second is not a completely fair representation as I had already seen 6-7 of the Verbal questions previously). Moreover, in the 4 mocks I took with my coaching platform, I had an accuracy of 30-34 out of 36.
3. I finished the exam with just over a minute remaining and felt confident about a significant portion of my answers (it felt very similar to the mocks I had taken), so finding it a bit difficult to reconcile and understand what to really improve on
For reference, I am Indian student and prepared using the online resources provided by Jamboree (an Indian coaching platform). I believe my understanding of the rules is good but I definitely do not always feel confident about SC questions, especially when there isn't a rule to clearly select the answer. I feel the most comfortable attempting RC questions and the least comfortable attempting SC questions (and get stuck between 2 options in CR sometimes)
I am seeking this forum's help as I intend to take the GMAT again in 3 weeks or so but I am feeling quite helpless. I would really appreciate any guidance regarding the next steps. Open to all suggestions. Happy to provide any further information.
